tooth movement

Tooth movement occurs when orthodontic braces or aligners apply controlled forces to teeth, gradually shifting them into proper positions. These forces stimulate the bone around the tooth roots, causing a process called bone remodeling—in which bone tissue is broken down on the side moving away from the force and rebuilt on the side toward which the tooth is moving. This biological process allows the tooth to glide through the bone steadily and safely over time. Properly managed, this movement repositions teeth for improved function, alignment, and aesthetics while maintaining oral health.
