Tonometry

Tonometry is a medical test that measures the pressure inside your eye, called intraocular pressure (IOP). This pressure is important because it can indicate the health of your optic nerve and help detect glaucoma, a condition that can lead to vision loss. During the test, a device gently touches or shines light into your eye to assess the IOP without causing discomfort. Regular tonometry helps monitor eye health, especially if you're at risk for glaucoma, allowing for early detection and treatment to preserve vision.
