Tojo's government
Tojo’s government refers to the leadership under General Hideki Tojo in Japan from 1941 to 1944, during World War II. As Prime Minister, Tojo wielded extensive military and political power, emphasizing Japan’s militarization and expansion. His government prioritized aggressive policies in Asia, leading to alliances with Axis powers, and was marked by wartime restrictions, censorship, and efforts to mobilize the economy for war. This period was characterized by Japan’s aggressive military actions and the eventual devastating consequences of wartime conflict. After Japan’s defeat, Tojo resigned and was later prosecuted for war crimes.
