Tohir Yuldashev was an Uzbek Islamist militant leader, known for founding the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan (IMU), a group seeking to establish an Islamic state in Central Asia. He was involved in militant activities and conflicts aimed at overthrowing secular governments and promoting Islamic governance. Yuldashev was also linked to various terrorist attacks and was considered a significant figure in regional insurgencies. He was killed in 2009 during a military operation in Tajikistan. His actions and ideology had regional and international security implications, contributing to ongoing concerns about extremism and instability in Central Asia.
