TOC measurement techniques

Total Organic Carbon (TOC) measurement techniques assess the amount of organic carbon present in a sample, often water. These methods typically involve converting organic carbon into carbon dioxide through combustion or oxidation processes. In combustion techniques, the sample is burned at high temperatures, releasing CO₂, which is then measured using a detector. In wet chemical oxidation, oxidants react with organic compounds, producing measurable ions or gases. These measurements help determine water quality, especially for environmental monitoring and industrial processes. Accurate TOC analysis ensures safety, compliance, and effective treatment by quantifying organic contaminants.
