Tobacco-related diseases
Tobacco-related diseases are health conditions caused by smoking or using tobacco products. These include lung diseases like chronic bronchitis and emphysema, which make breathing difficult, and various cancers, especially lung, mouth, throat, and esophagus cancers. Tobacco also increases the risk of heart disease and stroke by damaging blood vessels and raising blood pressure. Nicotine and other harmful chemicals in tobacco harm nearly every organ, reducing overall health and leading to chronic illness. Quitting tobacco significantly lowers these risks and improves quality of life.
