TN (Twisted Nematic)

Twisted Nematic (TN) refers to a type of LCD (liquid crystal display) technology where liquid crystals are arranged to twist and control light passage. When no voltage is applied, the crystals are twisted, allowing light to pass through a polarized filter, making the screen visible. Applying voltage realigns the crystals, blocking the light and changing the display’s image. TN panels are known for fast response times and lower production costs but usually have narrower viewing angles and less accurate color reproduction compared to other LCD types. They are commonly used in gaming monitors and budget displays.
