TLV® (Threshold Limit Values)

Threshold Limit Values (TLVs®) are guidelines set by safety organizations to indicate the maximum level of a hazardous substance in the workplace environment that most workers can be exposed to without experiencing adverse health effects. They are intended to protect workers over the course of an 8-hour workday and 40-hour workweek. TLVs® are not legal limits but serve as recommended safety standards to prevent illness or injury from chemical, physical, or biological hazards. Essentially, they help employers and workers understand safe exposure levels to maintain a healthy and safe working environment.
