TLC (Triple-Level Cell)
Triple-Level Cell (TLC) is a type of NAND flash memory used in SSDs that stores three bits of data per memory cell, unlike Single-Level Cell (SLC) or Multi-Level Cell (MLC) which store fewer bits. This allows TLC drives to hold more data in the same space, making them more affordable and offering higher storage capacity. However, because each cell manages more data, TLC drives generally have slower write speeds and potentially lower durability compared to SLC or MLC drives. TLC is ideal for everyday use where large storage and cost efficiency are priorities.
