Titoist Nationalism
Titoist Nationalism refers to the political and ideological approach promoted by Josip Broz Tito, the leader of Yugoslavia from the 1940s until the 1980s. This nationalism emphasized unity among the diverse ethnic groups in Yugoslavia while promoting a sense of Yugoslav identity over individual national identities. Tito sought to balance the interests of various nations within the federation, advocating for self-determination while maintaining a strong, centralized government. This approach aimed to mitigate ethnic tensions and promote cooperation, but it later faced challenges, especially after Tito's death, leading to the eventual disintegration of Yugoslavia in the 1990s.
