Titanic Slipways

Titanic slipways were the large, inclined structures built to support the construction and launching of the RMS Titanic. They consisted of massive beams and rails that held the ship's hull as it was assembled and then guided it into the water during launch. Located at the Harland and Wolff shipyard in Belfast, these slipways enabled the Titanic to be built in sections, floated out into the River Lagan, and then moved into service. They were crucial engineering features that allowed the massive ocean liner to be constructed efficiently and safely.
