Titan IV (launch vehicle)
The Titan IV was a heavy-lift rocket developed by the United States to carry large payloads, such as satellites and space probes, into orbit. It was part of the Titan family of rockets and used for high-priority, classified missions, including launching military and space agency satellites. Featuring multiple stages that sequentially dropped away as fuel was used, it was known for its reliability and power to send large loads into space. The Titan IV was retired in 2005 after serving over two decades, replaced by more modern launch vehicles tailored to contemporary space mission needs.
