Tissue fluid
Tissue fluid is the clear, watery substance that surrounds cells in our body's tissues. It forms from blood plasma as nutrients, oxygen, and waste products move out of tiny blood vessels called capillaries. This fluid bathes the cells, providing a medium for exchanges between blood and cells. It also helps maintain the balance of fluids and maintain tissue health. Tissue fluid is similar to plasma but has fewer proteins, allowing essential substances to reach cells more easily. It plays a vital role in delivering nutrients and removing waste, supporting overall tissue function.
