time-related disorders
Time-related disorders are conditions that affect our internal biological clock, disrupting sleep-wake cycles and daily functioning. Examples include shift work disorder, where irregular schedules cause insomnia and fatigue; jet lag, resulting from rapid travel across time zones, leading to sleep and mood disturbances; and advanced or delayed sleep phase disorder, where internal clocks are shifted, causing difficulty sleeping or waking at desired times. These disorders stem from misalignment between external schedules and our internal circadian rhythm, impacting overall health, mood, and performance. Proper management often involves light therapy, sleep hygiene, and sometimes medication to realign the body's internal clock.
