Tim Berners-Lee is a British computer scientist best known for inventing the World Wide Web in 1989. He developed the fundamental technologies that enable us to access information online, including HTML (the language for creating webpages) and HTTP (the protocol for transmitting data). Berners-Lee's vision was to create an open and accessible web where people could share and exchange information easily. He founded the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) to promote standards and ensure the web remains a universal medium for communication and innovation. His work has profoundly transformed how we communicate and access knowledge globally.
