Tigris

The Tigris is a major river in southwestern Asia, flowing through Turkey, Iraq, and Iran. It is approximately 1,200 miles long and forms part of the historical Mesopotamian region, often called the "Cradle of Civilization." The river supports agriculture, provides water for cities, and has historically been vital for trade and settlement. It joins with the Euphrates River to create the Shatt al-Arab waterway before emptying into the Persian Gulf. The Tigris's basin is rich in history but faces challenges like pollution, damming, and water management issues impacting local communities.
