Tifariti

Tifariti is a town in Western Sahara, a region claimed by both the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic and Morocco. Located in a desert area, Tifariti has strategic importance due to its proximity to the border and symbolic value for Sahrawi independence efforts. It has served as a base for the SADR government-in-exile and hosts some of its government and military activities. The area remains largely sparsely populated and is often affected by political disputes and conflicts over sovereignty. Despite these challenges, Tifariti symbolizes Sahrawi national identity and aspirations for self-determination.
