They form the backbone of the internet, ensuring efficiency and extensive reach. Because they don’t pay for transit to connect with other Tier 1 networks, they have full access to the entire internet and can exchange data freely. Think of them as the major highways of the internet, providing the foundational infrastructure that supports reliable, high-speed global connectivity.
