Étienne-Louis Boullée
Étienne-Louis Boullée was an influential 18th-century French architect known for his visionary designs that emphasized grand, geometric forms and emotional impact. He believed architecture should evoke awe and intellectual reflection, often experimenting with massive scales, bold use of light and shadow, and simple yet monumental shapes. His ideas were ahead of his time, blending art and science to create immersive, symbolic spaces. Although many of his designs were never built, his innovative concepts have inspired later architects and contributed to the development of neoclassical and modern architecture.
