Tied Aid

Tied aid refers to financial assistance or grants provided by developed countries to developing nations with specific conditions: the recipient country must spend the funds on products or services from the donor country. Essentially, it’s aid linked to purchasing goods or services from the donor, which can limit the recipient’s flexibility and often benefits the donor's economy. While it aims to support development, critics argue it can hinder true independence and sometimes results in less efficient use of aid funds.
