tidal flows
Tidal flows are the movement of water caused by the gravitational pull of the moon and the sun on Earth's oceans. As these celestial bodies exert their gravity, they create a rise and fall of sea levels known as tides. When the water level rises, it’s called a flood tide; when it falls, it’s aebb tide. These tidal changes generate currents that flow in and out of bays, estuaries, and coastal areas. Tidal flows influence navigation, marine life, and ecosystems, and they follow a predictable cycle typically lasting about 12 to 24 hours.
