Tianwen-1
Tianwen-1 is China’s Mars mission launched in 2020, comprising an orbiter and a rover named Zhurong. Its goal is to study Mars’ surface, climate, and geology, and search for signs of ancient life. The orbiter stays in orbit around Mars to gather data and relay signals between Earth and the rover, while the rover explores the surface, analyzing soil and rocks. This mission aims to improve global understanding of Mars, advance China’s space technology, and lay groundwork for future exploration. Tianwen-1 represents China’s ambition to participate in planetary exploration and expand human knowledge of the Red Planet.
