Thuringian Confederation
The Thuringian Confederation was a political alliance formed in 1850 among several German states in the Thuringia region. It aimed to provide mutual support and cooperation, particularly in response to pressures from larger German states and the changing political landscape following the revolutions of 1848. The confederation included states like Saxe-Altenburg and Saxe-Coburg. Although meant to enhance regional unity and stability, it was short-lived, dissolving in 1852 due to differing political interests and external pressures, ultimately contributing to the eventual unification of Germany in the latter part of the 19th century.
