Thrombelastography

Thrombelastography (TEG) is a diagnostic test that assesses how well blood clots and dissolves over time. It measures the strength and stability of a clot as it forms, providing real-time information about clotting ability, speed, and breakdown. This helps doctors understand bleeding risks or clotting disorders, guide blood transfusions, and manage coagulation therapy. TEG considers the entire clotting process, offering a comprehensive picture of hemostasis (the body's ability to control bleeding). It’s especially useful in surgeries, trauma care, and managing complex clotting conditions.
