Three Treasures (Jing, Qi, Shen)
The Three Treasures—Jing, Qi, and Shen—are fundamental concepts in traditional Chinese medicine and philosophy. Jing, often translated as essence, is the body's foundational energy and vitality inherited from parents; it nourishes growth, development, and reproduction. Qi is the vital life force or energy that flows through the body’s energy channels, supporting bodily functions and health. Shen, meaning spirit or mind, represents consciousness, mental clarity, and emotional well-being. Together, they form a holistic system: Jing fuels Qi, which in turn sustains Shen, maintaining overall balance, health, and vitality.
