Three-Point Lighting
Three-point lighting is a common technique in photography and filmmaking used to illuminate a subject clearly and attractively. It involves three main lights: the key light, which is the primary source and shapes the subject’s features; the fill light, which softens shadows caused by the key light; and the back light, placed behind the subject to create separation from the background and add depth. Together, these lights create balanced, three-dimensional images that highlight the subject effectively, ensuring the scene looks natural and visually engaging without harsh shadows or overly flat appearance.
