Three Gorges Dam (China)

The Three Gorges Dam in China is a massive hydroelectric power station built across the Yangtze River to generate electricity and control flooding. It spans about 2.3 kilometers (1.4 miles) and includes a large concrete dam, a ship lift, and a powerhouse with turbines. By harnessing river flow, it produces around 22,500 megawatts of electricity, enough to power millions of homes. Additionally, it helps manage seasonal flooding and improves river navigation.
