Thracian language

The Thracian language was spoken by the ancient Thracian people in southeastern Europe, covering parts of modern Bulgaria, Greece, and Turkey. It’s an extinct Indo-European language, known mainly from inscriptions, place names, and personal names, as most of its vocabulary and grammar have been lost or remain uncertain. Linguists believe it was closely related to Balkan languages like Illyrian and possibly early Albanian, but due to limited surviving material, much about it remains a mystery. As a historical language, it provides insights into the cultural and linguistic diversity of ancient Thrace, but it is not used today.
