Thoroughbred (horse breed)

Thoroughbred is a breed of horse known for its speed, agility, and stamina, primarily used in horse racing. Originating in England in the 17th and 18th centuries, they were developed by crossing Arabian, Barbs, and Native British horses. Tall, athletic, and lean, Thoroughbreds typically stand about 15 to 17 hands high (roughly 5 to 5.5 feet at the shoulder). They have a refined head, long neck, and powerful hindquarters, traits that contribute to their racing performance. Beyond racing, they are also used in show jumping and eventing, and their genetics influence many other horse breeds.
