Thorn

A thorn is a sharp, pointed growth found on plants, such as roses or blackberries. It's a natural defense mechanism that helps protect the plant from herbivores by making it more difficult or painful for animals to eat its leaves or stems. Thorns are made of hardened plant tissue and can vary in size and shape. Unlike prickles, which are also sharp but grow from the skin of the plant, thorns are modified branches or stems. They serve both protective and structural functions, supporting the plant’s survival in its environment.
