Thomas Wright (astronomer)

Thomas Wright was a 17th-century English astronomer and mathematician known for his work on the universe's structure. He proposed that the galaxy's shape resembles a flattened, rotating disc, with stars distributed throughout it, an idea that contributed to our understanding of the Milky Way. Wright also suggested that the universe is vast and filled with countless stars, forming a celestial system beyond Earth’s view.
