Thomas More (historical figure)
Sir Thomas More (1478–1535) was an English lawyer, scholar, and statesman known for his integrity and intellectual contributions. He served as Lord Chancellor under King Henry VIII and is best remembered for his book "Utopia," which depicts an ideal society. More was a devout Catholic who opposed the king’s break with the Catholic Church to create the Church of England, leading to his execution for refusing to accept the monarch's supremacy. He was canonized as a saint by the Catholic Church and is regarded as a martyr for his principles and moral conviction.
