Thomas More (author)

Thomas More (1478–1535) was an English lawyer, scholar, and statesman best known as the author of *Utopia*, a pioneering work of political thought that describes an idealized society to explore concepts of justice, governance, and social organization. He served as Lord Chancellor under King Henry VIII but stood against the king’s split from the Catholic Church, ultimately leading to his execution.
