Thomas Dudley

Thomas Dudley (1576–1653) was an influential early American colonial leader and administrator, primarily in Massachusetts. He served as a governor and deputy governor of the Massachusetts Bay Colony, playing a key role in its governance during its formative years. Dudley was also a Puritan minister and a landowner who helped shape the colony's political and religious landscape.
