Thomas Cramner
Thomas Cranmer was a 16th-century English church leader and theologian who played a key role in the English Reformation. As Archbishop of Canterbury, he helped shape the Church of England, promoting changes that separated it from Pope’s authority. Cranmer was involved in creating the User’s Prayer Book, which introduced English-language services, making worship more accessible. He also supported reforms that aligned church practices with Protestant ideas. His work had a lasting impact on religious life in England. Cranmer was ultimately martyred for his beliefs during the reign of Queen Mary I, who sought to restore Catholicism.
