Thinhorn sheep

Thinhorn sheep, a subspecies of the northern mountain sheep, are native to the Canadian Rockies and parts of the northern United States. They are well-adapted to harsh mountain environments, with thick woolly coats and agile bodies that help them navigate rocky terrain. Male thinhorn sheep, called rams, develop impressive curved horns, while females, or ewes, have smaller or no horns. They primarily feed on grasses, shrubs, and herbs, especially during summer. Thinhorn sheep are social animals, often forming small herds, and are vital indicators of healthy mountain ecosystems. Conservation efforts focus on preserving their habitat amid environmental challenges.
