Thermoset processing involves shaping and curing certain plastics that, once heated and molded, undergo a chemical change that makes them hard and permanent. Unlike thermoplastics, which can be melted and reshaped repeatedly, thermosets set into a durable, fixed form through a chemical reaction, often involving heat, pressure, or catalysts. Typical processes include molding, casting, or compression. This results in materials with excellent heat resistance, strength, and chemical stability, ideal for applications like electronic components, adhesives, and automotive parts.
