Thermopylae Pass

The Thermopylae Pass is a narrow mountain corridor in Greece historically famous for the Battle of Thermopylae in 480 BCE. A small Greek force, led by King Leonidas of Sparta, defended this strategic chokepoint against a much larger Persian army. The terrain’s tight space allowed the Greeks to hold off the Persians for several days, exemplifying bravery and tactical coordination. Though ultimately the Persians won, the stand became a symbol of courage and resistance, highlighting how a smaller force can impact history through strategic defense.
