Thermophysical Properties
Thermophysical properties refer to the physical characteristics of materials that affect their behavior under different temperatures and pressures. This includes properties like heat capacity (how much heat a substance can store), thermal conductivity (how well a substance conducts heat), and phase transition points (such as melting and boiling). In statistical thermodynamics, these properties are derived from the statistical behavior of individual particles in a system, helping us understand how the collective behavior of atoms and molecules leads to observable macroscopic phenomena in materials, whether solid, liquid, or gas.
