Thermite
Thermite is a chemical mixture, typically of aluminum powder and a metal oxide like iron oxide, that reacts through a highly exothermic (heat-releasing) process called a thermite reaction. When ignited, it produces extremely high temperatures—over 2,500°C (4,532°F)—capable of melting steel or other metals. This intense heat makes thermite useful for welding railway tracks, metal cutting, or demolition work. Despite its power, thermite must be handled carefully, as it can cause severe burns and fires due to its intense heat and molten metal production.
