Thermal Recovery

Thermal recovery is a method used to extract more oil from underground reservoirs by applying heat. This process involves injecting thermal energy, often as steam, into the reservoir to lower the viscosity of the heavy oil, making it easier to flow. As the oil becomes less thick, it can be pumped to the surface more efficiently. Thermal recovery methods are especially useful for extracting heavy, viscous oils that are difficult to produce using conventional techniques, helping to increase oil recovery rates and extend the usefulness of existing oil fields.
