thermal emission
Thermal emission is the process by which objects release heat energy as electromagnetic radiation, primarily in the infrared spectrum. When an object warms up, its atoms and molecules vibrate more rapidly, causing it to emit heat in the form of light that we can't see with our eyes. All objects with a temperature above absolute zero emit some thermal radiation, which increases with temperature. This radiation allows us to detect heat using special cameras or sensors. Essentially, thermal emission is how warm objects can "give off" their heat into the surroundings, helping us observe temperature differences visually.
