Theresienstadt Ghetto
The Theresienstadt Ghetto was a Jewish settlement created by Nazi Germany during World War II in occupied Czechoslovakia. Established in 1941, it served as a transit and holding camp where Jews were detained before deportation to extermination camps. It was used by the Nazis for propaganda to falsely appear as a "model Jewish settlement," often showcasing cultural activities and abundant resources to deceive the outside world. Despite this, conditions were harsh, and many prisoners suffered from overcrowding, starvation, and disease. The ghetto became a symbol of Nazi cruelty and the suffering of European Jews during the Holocaust.
