Theos Bernard

Theos Bernard was an American scholar and explorer, born in 1907, known for introducing Western audiences to Hindu and Buddhist philosophies through his research, writings, and teachings. He traveled extensively in India and Tibet, studying their spiritual traditions firsthand. Bernard sought to bridge Eastern spirituality with Western understanding, becoming a prominent figure in the mid-20th century interest in yoga and meditation. His work helped popularize these practices in the West, though his life was cut short when he died in a hiking accident in 1947. His contributions remain influential in the study and appreciation of Eastern religious practices.
