Theoretical Materialism

Theoretical Materialism is a philosophical perspective that posits everything that exists is made of physical matter. It asserts that all phenomena, including consciousness and thoughts, can be explained by interactions of physical substances, such as neurons in the brain. In essence, it views the universe as fundamentally composed of material things, and mental processes as emerging from or reducible to physical processes.
