theonomous ethics

Theonomous ethics is a view where moral standards and guiding principles are determined by a divine authority, such as God. In this perspective, ethical rules come from divine commandments or sacred texts, and human reason or personal judgment is secondary. Essentially, what is right or wrong is defined by God's will, and humans are expected to follow these divine directives to live ethically. This contrasts with autonomous ethics, where individuals create their own moral principles.
