Theological accommodation

Theological accommodation is the idea that religious teachings or language are sometimes adapted to fit the cultural, historical, or scientific understanding of a particular time or group. It recognizes that divine or spiritual truths can be communicated in ways that relate to people's current knowledge and context, making them more accessible and meaningful. Instead of suggesting that religious texts are meant to provide literal scientific details, accommodation suggests they convey deeper spiritual truths using the language and concepts familiar to their audience.
