Theodotion
Theodotion was an ancient Jewish scholar and translator active around the 2nd century CE. He is best known for producing a Greek translation of the Hebrew Bible, particularly of the Book of Daniel, which differs from the version in the Septuagint (another early Greek translation). His translation aimed to clarify and update the text, making it more accurate and accessible. Theodotion’s work became an important reference in early Jewish and Christian studies, influencing how biblical texts were understood and used in religious traditions. His translations contributed to the broader effort of preserving and interpreting sacred scriptures across different languages and communities.
