Theodorus was an ancient Greek mathematician known for his work on irrational numbers and geometry. He is famous for demonstrating that certain square roots, like those of numbers not perfect squares, are irrational—meaning they can't be expressed as a simple fraction. For example, he showed that √2 cannot be written as a fraction, which was a significant discovery in understanding the nature of numbers.
