Theo van Gogh

Theo van Gogh was a Dutch art dealer and the younger brother of the famous painter Vincent van Gogh. Born in 1857, he supported Vincent's artistic career and was instrumental in promoting his work. Theo also managed their family’s art dealership, helping to establish Vincent’s reputation posthumously. Their close relationship was documented through extensive letters, revealing deep emotional and intellectual bonds. Theo’s support was vital to Vincent’s life and legacy, and he continued to champion his brother’s art after Vincent’s death in 1890 until his own passing in 1891.
